The Four Rs of Gratitude

​There are reasons to express gratitude every day.
I wake up grateful to God and give Him all the praise–
for even the basic things…

Just to open my eyes, breathing one more time
and be in my right mind–
is often taken for granted, but certainly not guaranteed.

You see, my mom lost memory and language skills
when she awoke with a stroke in February 2014.
Yet, she is still alive at 75,
and I am grateful she’s fully mobile
​and at home with me.
