God’s Protection

​Psalm 91 describes the benefits of living in the secret place of God. It is a place of refuge where we can experience unconditional love, supernatural protection, security, deliverance, grace and power.  The following inspirational poem is my creative expression of Psalm 91:

GOD’S PROTECTION 

We, who dwell in the secret place
of El Elyon (the God Most High),
Shall abide in protection and security
beneath the shadow of God Almighty (El Shaddai).
 
The Lord is our refuge and our fortress,
our God in whom we can confidently trust.
He will deliver us from entrapment and disease;
He will shelter us from dangers and things unjust.

His truth and faithfulness shall be our shield and buckler,
a strong defense guarding us indeed.
Fear not the terror lurking in the night or day,
God’s grace is sufficient for all our needs.

A thousand may fall at our side
and ten thousand at our right hand,
But it will not come near us
if armored in the Lord we take a stand.

​We are inaccessible in the secret place,
only with our eyes will we look and see
the reward of the wicked perishing
while we are preserved from calamity.

Because we have made the Lord our refuge,
even the Most High our place of rest,
Whatever happens, nothing can harm us,
no evil or plague will come near our tent.

For He will give His angels charge over us,
as a church and individually,
to accompany, defend, and uphold us in all our ways,
enabling us to trample ravenous creatures victoriously.

​He will rescue and protect us, honor and set us up on high
because we love the Lord and personally know His name.
 In trouble, He’ll be there to answer our call and
prove salvation and satisfaction are promises He proclaims.
